Artist Statement

Peak Potters is proud to host a collection of artists and craftspeople from the surrounding High Peak area of Derbyshire.

Sarah Brelsford, a stained glass artist and recycled tin jeweller, loves to make beautiful things from discarded materials.

David Lowther, primarily known for his urban sketches, also finds inspiration in The Peaks where he uses inks, mark-making and even found objects to draw what he sees around him.

Andrew Grantham, a part-time potter based in Chinley, creates slipped earthenware and stoneware pots made for everyday use and enjoyment.

Sue Ward (Twenty2Creations) works with leather off cuts from the upholstery trade, saving them from landfill and creating them into small portable beasts, mainly in the form of keyrings. She also offers a bespoke service turning your most cherished pet or project into a pocketable keepsake (she has been known to create catamarans, campervans, and even orangutans!!) Indeed any item close to your heart can be turned into a leather likeness!

Helen Jacobs’ life is immersed in clay, running beginner ceramics classes from her workshop at Peak Potters. If you’re lucky, you might just catch her throwing her own pots on the wheel out of earthenware, stoneware, or her favourite - porcelain.
