Artist Statement

Adrian Alvey under the name ‘AlveyArt’ has been producing sculptures for the past few years in his studio in the Clocktower Business Centre in Hollingwood, Chesterfield. This however is the first time he has opened his studio as part of the Derbyshire Open Arts weekend.

Adrian is a self taught artist born in Chesterfield and has always lived here.

AlveyArt’s sculptures were previously made from wire mesh and old clock and watch parts these can be seen in detail on the website AlveyArt.co.uk together with his large scale installations.

His newest sculptures have been inspired by the idea of  ‘windfalls’  from apple trees in the autumn fall and the beauty of fallen leaves and seed pods. For many years Adrian has been interested in collecting driftwood and other found objects but this is the first time he has created sculptures from them.
